My Tithing Plan
Tithes in the Community of Christ consist of Mission Tithes
and Community Tithes. The larger portion of your tithing
response is Mission Tithes and funds ministries at Chapel
for Peace, the mission center, and the world church.
Community Tithes, the remaining portion, support church-
affiliated organizations and other charitable nonprofits. More
information.
Bequests
After providing for the needs of your loved ones, you can
leave an amount of your estate to Chapel for Peace. If you
have a will, you can easily add a provision for a bequest to
Chapel for Peace by discussing it with your attorney and
loved ones. If you do not have a will, now is an
excellent time to prepare one.
Here are some samples of appropriate wording:
General Bequest "I give to Chapel for Peace
Congregation, 909 W. Battlefield Road, Springfield,
MO 65807, the sum of $_____ to be used for the
general purposes of the Congregation."
Residual Bequest "I give to Chapel for Peace
Congregation, 909 W. Battlefield Road, Springfield,
MO 65807, (percentage such as 50%) of the rest,
residue and remainder of my estate to be used for
the general purposes of the Congregation."
Contingent Bequest "In the event my spouse does
not survive me, I give to Chapel for Peace
Congregation, 909 W. Battlefield Road, Springfield,
MO 65807, the sum of $_____ (or residual
percentage) to be used for the general purposes
of the Congregation."

subject to state and federal taxes, thus reducing the amount
of your gift. See your broker or financial adviser for help with
your particular situation.

cash. Please discuss with the Pastoral Team whether a gift
